How Visualization works
How visualization works.
Visualization is like a mental rehearsal of something you want to incorporate into your life. It is based on principles of the law of attraction, which basically says that we call what we throw. If someone is constantly overwhelmed by negative thoughts, it will be a challenge for them to recognize the positivity in their life and attract more. On the contrary, if someone constantly imagines himself at the top of his game, it can help him to have more faith in his ability to perform. (It's no wonder, then, that successful people, from Jim Carrey to Oprah, attribute some of their success to regular viewing.)
By imagining what living our goals would look and feel like, we can also illuminate the neuromuscular pathways that connect our brain to our muscles. Doing so can help our brains begin to consider how it would feel to have achieved that goal.
When done regularly as a daily practice, visualization becomes second nature and it becomes easier to create effective visuals.
